A recent publication identified the minority male students of OJRSD as not making adequate growth as compared to other local county school districts. The December PTA meeting is this Wednesday, December 11th at 7PM. I will be sharing some updates regarding the upcoming renovation plans and proposed timelines. There will be future information sessions for staff and parents if you are not able to attend. Click here to access the information on the OJR website.
This week's WFSG on Tuesday (day1) will focus on behavior. Data from the first trimester will be shared.
I will be out of the building Wednesday, December18th.
This year's SOAR program will begin in mid January. The format will be small group remediation for students in grades 4-6 in reading and math. It will held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students will be with us for one hour from 3:15-4:15. However, you will be paid curriculum rate from 3:15-4:30 to compensate for planning and dismissal. If this sounds like something you are interested in, there will be a drop-in information session next Monday the 16th at 3:15 in the library.
This Wednesday, December 11th, the grade-levels and LS teachers will be meeting during the common planning (specials) time to review the current Reading interventions. An Outlook invitation will be sent to you this week.
A safety committee meeting is being held this Thursday, December 12th at 3:15 in the front office conference room. Larry will be with us.
The district holiday band concert is this Thursday evening at 7PM at the OJRHS. Please come and join our students.
This Tuesday, the Attendance Team will be meeting. If you have specific concerns regarding attendance, please email Laura.
Please plan your holiday classroom parties for the afternoon of Friday, December 20th. There is an holiday assembly that should conclude by 2PM. If you are having a holiday breakfast instead of a party, please complete the “Special Event Form” so we are adequately prepare for your event. If you are planning a simple 45ish minute party on the 20th, there is no need to complete the form. If you have questions, please see me.
